LUPRANATE® MS can be supplied in liquid form by tank truck or in solid form in non-recyclable steel drums, with a capacity of 235kg per drum. Tank truck transportation The temperature is maintained at 41°C to 45°C, and the temperature of the steel drum should be lower than -5°C.

LUPRANATE® MS is moisture sensitive and will turn yellow when exposed to light or air. The product will slowly self-polymerize to form a dimer and precipitate out. In some special applications, the dimer may affect the performance of the final product. The dimer cannot be decomposed under heating conditions. Liquid Lupranate® MS can be stored for about 2 weeks at a temperature between 41°C and 45°C under dry N2 protection. To prevent crystallization, precise control of tank and piping temperatures is required, and the recommended solution is to keep the Lupranate® MS circulating and use jacketed tubing. The jacket medium temperature must be strictly controlled and must not contain water, alcohol or alcohol/water mixture. The tank bottom and pipe walls shall be heat traced.
Solid products should be stored below -5°C, without contact with moisture and oxygen at this temperature, and the validity period of Lupranate® MS can be as long as at least 6 months .
The way to melt the solid product is to heat it in a hot air furnace at 80°C for 10-12 hours, and the heating time should be shortened as much as possible. During the heating process, the product temperature shall not be higher than 70°C. Local overheating must be avoided, as the product will deteriorate and generate gas above 230°C. Therefore, the recommended melting method is to roll the barrel in a hot air oven at 80°C, mix well after melting. Proper handling and thawing will keep the product clear and prevent the formation of dimers. Melting with hot water or steam is not recommended, there is a risk of water entering the tank through leaks and reacting with the isocyanate.

Safety Advice and Environmental Protection
Labeling, transportation, storage, application, and waste disposal must follow relevant regulations. Occupational exposure limits must be observed.
Lupranate® MS is harmful if inhaled and irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Skin contact or inhalation may cause allergy.
Please read the Product Safety Data Sheet before using this product.
The residual material in the steel drum must be handled carefully to prevent any accidents. Water or moisture can react with Lupranate® MS and release carbon dioxide. Water or moisture must be avoided, otherwise it may cause the steel drum to rupture under pressure.
If BASF isocyanate products are used in the production of consumer products (such as food or skin contact products, toys, etc.) or medical supplies, they must Comply with the relevant national and international regulations. It is recommended to contact our sales staff and the Ecology and Product Safety department.
