Apply
Basonat® HI 2000 NG is a low viscosity, solvent free isocyanate trimer body.
Basonat® HI 2000 NG exhibits a wide range of color changes in refinish formulations Small.
Compared with conventional acrylics when cured with Basonat® HI 100 NG The formulation of the agent increases the solid content by about 3%. If high-solid resins are used, such as Joncryl polyol high-solid products, the solid content of the formula can be further increased.
Basonat® HI 2000 NG has a wide range of selectivity to solvents, e.g. For furniture coatings, solvents with low volatility will significantly slow down the drying speed of the paint film, so solvents with relatively high volatility can be selected.
Basonat® HI series is mainly used for light fast and weather fast coatings.
Basonat® HI polyisocyanate curing agent is suitable for most hydroxyl-containing resins, Examples are acrylic resins (such as Joncry polyols) and hydroxylated polyesters (such as hyperbranched polyols)Basonol HPE). When matching with hydroxyl-containing polyester resin, its compatibility should be tested first.
Recipe Guidance
Basonat® HI polyisocyanate products can be used with esters (such as butyl acetate), ketones solvents (e.g. methyl ethyl ketone), alkyds (e.g. propylene glycol methyl ether acetate) or aromatic solvents (e.g. Solvesso® 100, xylene).
If Basonat® HI polyisocyanates are diluted below 40% solids, turbidity, flocculation or settling may occur during storage. Storage stability should therefore be tested.
According to the long-term weather test, its gloss retention is better than HDI biuret (Basonat® HB) series products in most cases. When Basonat® HI series is used instead of Basonat® HB series products, the solids content of the overall coating formulation can be increased due to its lower viscosity.
According to the following calculation formula, the required amount of cross-linking curing agent can be calculated from the theoretical polyisocyanate equivalent value:
0.075 × hydroxyl value × non-volatile content of hydroxyl-containing components
——————————————————
NCO content
Example: Joncryl 507®
Hydroxyl value (mg KOH/g polyol to solids) 140
Not volatile (NVF) (%) 80
Basonat® HI 2000 NG, NCO content (%) 23
100 g of Joncryl® 507 in the supplied form requires an addition of 36.5 g of Basonat® HI 2000 NG.
Solvents, pigments and fillers used in formulations must not contain reactive hydroxyl components. Water, ethanol or amines should not be used in formulations containing polyisocyanates.
Solvents and resins used in two-component polyurethane coatings should ensure that their water content is less than 500 ppm.
Save
Basonat® HI 2000 NG is very sensitive to moisture. Ideal storage conditions are in the original, tightly sealed packaging, in a dry environment between 10 °C (50 °F) and 30 °C (86 °F).
Before resealing, nitrogen blanketing should be used.
