Performance of early strengthening agent

Early strength agents are substances that can accelerate the early strength development of concrete and have no significant impact on later strength. They are called early strength agents. Most early strength agents are chemically synthesized, and only a few are produced in nature such as glauber’s salt, gypsum, lithium salt, and potassium salt.
Early strong agents have a strong promotion effect on the early intensity of concrete. The strength of 1D and 3D requires more than 20%higher than the benchmark concrete, while the 28 intensity is equal to or slightly lower than the benchmark. Early strength is not necessarily accelerating setting, so the setting time is allowed to be slightly delayed, but it is not busy for 1.5h of the base concrete. In addition, the shrinkage of concrete mixed with early strength agent is generally large, so the 90-day shrinkage ratio is stipulated not to be greater than 135%. Most morning strengthening agents are alkaline substances, of which potassium and sodium are relatively high. Therefore, when using alkali-active aggregates for concrete that is in contact with water or in a humid environment, the alkali content (calculated as the equivalent of sodium oxide) brought by the admixture should not exceed 1kg/m3 of concrete. The use of early strength agents is critical. Be cautious.
