Among them, synthetic camphor has become the largest application field of turpentine, accounting for 42.3%; followed by synthetic fragrances, accounting for 23.1%.

According to the “Turpentine Industry Investment Environment and Investment Prospects Forecast Analysis Report 2023-2027” released by the Industrial Research Center, turpentine is rosin There is a strong correlation between the output of co-products in the process of preparing rosin after initial processing and rosin output. As my country’s rosin production gradually increases, turpentine production increases accordingly. In 2022, my country’s turpentine production will be 82,100 tons.

Turpentine is a product obtained from the processing of rosin, which mainly comes from live pine trees. At present, rosin in my country is mainly extracted from pine trees such as Yunnan pine, Simao pine, Masson pine, and slash pine. Due to the influence of climate and geographical location, these pine trees are concentrated in Yunnan, Guangxi, Fujian, Guangdong and other regions. Therefore, due to limitations in the supply of raw materials, my country’s turpentine production capacity is mostly concentrated in Guangxi, Fujian, Yunnan, Guangdong and other regions.

Due to the continuous increase in domestic turpentine production, import volume has been affected to a certain extent. According to data released by the General Administration of Customs, in 2022, my country’s turpentine import volume was 2,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5,300 tons; the import value was 40.372 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 99.212 million yuan.

Industry analysts said that turpentine has a wide range of applications, but its production process will cause pollution such as noise and waste water. As my country’s environmental protection policies become increasingly strict, the turpentine industry will be affected to a certain extent.
