Lauric acid (lauric acid), usually in the form of white needle-like crystals, Soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in acetone, petroleum ether and water. Has the scent of laurel oil.
According to the supply of lauric acid: Lauric acid is the most widely used in the surfactant industry and is used in large quantities to manufacture various types of surfactants. Surfactants, according to the classification of surfactants, include cationic, anionic, nonionic and amphoteric.
The cationic types include laurylamine, lauryl nitrile, trilaurylamine, lauryldimethylamine, lauryltrimethylammonium salt, etc.;
The anionic type There are sodium lauryl sulfate, lauric acid sulfate ester salt, lauryl sulfate triethanolammonium salt, etc.; zwitterionic types include lauryl betaine, lauric acid imidazoline, etc.;
Non-ionic surfactants include Poly-L-alcohol monolaurate, polyoxyethylene laurate, glyceryl laurate polyoxyethylene ether, lauric acid diethanolamide, etc.
Introduction to laurylamine:
Lauramine is a white waxy solid. Soluble in ethanol, ether, benzene, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride, insoluble in water.
Production method: Use lauric acid as raw material and react with ammonia gas in the presence of catalyst silica gel. The product is washed with water, dried and distilled under reduced pressure to obtain lauryl nitrile. Laurel nitrile is hydrogenated under the catalysis of active nickel, which is reduced to obtain dodecylamine. Add lauryl nitrile to the autoclave, add an appropriate amount of active nickel, and replace the indoor air with nitrogen. Heat to 80°C with stirring, repeatedly charge with hydrogen until no longer absorbed, and keep warm for 3 hours. Cool and distill the crude product under reduced pressure to obtain dodecaamine.
Usage: It can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and used in the production of textile and rubber additives. It can also be used to prepare ore flotation agents, dodecyl quaternary ammonium salts, bactericides, insecticides, emulsifiers, detergents, and disinfectant special agents that prevent and treat skin burns, nourish body fluids, and provide antibacterial agents, etc.
