DBE is a mixture of three divalent acid esters, commonly known as methyl nylonate. It is composed of dimethyl succinate (succinate) CH3OOC (CH2) 2COOCH3 and dimethyl glutarate CH3OOC (CH2) 3COOCH3 The combination of three good environmental solvents, dimethyl adipate CH3OOC (CH2) 4COOCH3, and it is precisely because of this unique composition that DBE becomes a non-toxic, colorless and transparent liquid with a light ester aroma. It has super dissolving ability and is a biodegradable, environmentally friendly, high-boiling point solvent widely used in automotive coatings, colored steel plate coatings, can coatings, enameled wires, home appliance materials, furniture and wood coatings and other industries.


DBE product series includes pure dimethyl ester of succinic acid, glutaric acid and adipic acid as well as their mixtures in different proportions. During production, methanol is first reacted with the mixed dibasic acid, and then distilled and separated into different products. Precise control of the esterification process and separation process results in extremely low moisture content, methanol content, color and acid value in DBE.


Chemical properties:


DBE products are very stable under normal temperature and humidity. They have the characteristics of typical ester functional groups, including saponification and hydrolysis reactions. Transesterification reactions are mainly used to convert ester products into useful Plasticizers and other polyester products.


With the emphasis on environmental protection, safety and health, more and more laws and regulations stipulate or recommend not to use harmful solvents, such as: chlorinated solvents (trichloroethane, methyl chloride, etc.), glycol ethers, Ethanol ether acetate solvents, etc. DBE products are the best substitutes for these solvents, and DBE products can also fully meet the increasing demand for VOCs.
