Ziliuping(SLU)Probably the most complex area of dry mix mortar from a technical perspective. On a given uneven substrate(for example, a screed or a surface to be renovated Surface), the self-leveling platform must provide a suitable, smooth and strong Base for erecting various flooring materials, such as carpet, wood flooring, PVC , ceramic tiles, etc. Even for large areas, self-leveling should be easy and efficient to construct. Therefore, SLUmaterial must have very good fluidity, self-leveling ability and Self-smoothing ability. In addition, it should have rapid setting and drying properties so that the flooring material can be applied over the hardened mortar after only a few hours. SLUMortar should be able to bond to a variety of substrates and have low shrinkage, High compressive strength and good wear resistance.
YesSLU‘s technical requirements range from very simple to highly complex products. They vary in thickness, from1-10mmthin (Surface decoration, self-leveling/Plashing mortar and screed) , to60mmThick , a machine-applied self-leveling mortar layer is mixed in one device and pumping).
The mortar layer is used as a load-bearing foundation, with a thickness ranging from30To80mm, so it is a large-volume mortar. These mortars can be based on cement or gypsum(anhydrite) and other inorganic binders, which make the leveling layer have high dimensional stability(Low or no shrinkage). The setting time of these materials(“can be walked on“time )ranges from normal/Regular setting to rapid setting. This depends on the construction requirements, i.e. the floor material needs to be laid onSLUUp. The shorter the setting and drying time, the thicker the mortar used and the ingredients are more complex and expensive. Self-leveling mortar uses special hydraulic binders, such as ordinary Portland cement(OPC), high alumina cement(HAC)and gypsum(Anhydrite)etc. as the base material to achieve rapid hardening and drying and avoid excessive shrinkage or expansion.
So far, there are no reports on self-leveling flats in Europe(SLU), however, this technology and its applications have been known for many years and are all polymer modified Prepackaged dry mix mortar.
