With the current national emphasis on and increased requirements for the fire safety level of building exterior wall insulation, the market share of inorganic insulation materials has increased significantly.
It is clearly stated in the document (Gongxiao [2011] No. 65) that before the new standards are released, the “Interim Regulations on Fire Protection of Exterior Wall Insulation Systems and Exterior Wall Decorations of Civil Buildings” (Gongtongzi) shall be strictly implemented [2009] No. 46); Article 2 stipulates that the external insulation materials of civil buildings should use Class A insulation materials with combustion properties. To solve the safety and fire prevention problems in the insulation market by improving the flame retardant performance of building insulation materials.
The inorganic insulation materials currently used for building exterior wall insulation include expanded perlite, hollow vitrified microspheres, closed-cell perlite, rock wool, mineral wool, glass wool and lightweight block self-insulation systems etc., mainly made from inorganic materials such as stone chips, glass, industrial waste, etc.
From the actual situation of my country’s technology development and market supply, it is unrealistic to promote A -class flame retardant insulation system in a short time, but considering the importance of fire safety, it should be stopped immediately. (B3) The use of thermal insulation and flammable (B2) thermal insulation materials. Flame-retardant (B1) grade thermal insulation materials are the minimum standards for building thermal insulation systems and are strictly implemented.
