Compatibility
Solubility/Dilution
Bayhydrol® UV 2282 can be diluted with water.
Bayhydrol® UV 2282 generally has good compatibility with many acrylic dispersions, UV curable products and polyurethane dispersions such as Bayhydrol® XP 2593/1. These mixtures should be adjusted to a pH above 6.7 with triethylamine. Bayhydrol® UV 2282 can be matted with standard matting agents. Matting agent and additives can be directly dispersed in the base material in the disperser.
Application
Bayhydrol® UV 2282 is used to prepare high-quality waterborne UV-curable coatings, mainly used in wood coatings, which can make the coating film meet the resistance requirements of DIN 68 861-1B. After the water has evaporated, the coating is self-drying and can be sanded. The coating film after UV curing (10m/min/80W/cm lamp) has superior performance. The requirement for photoinitiator is low, 1-2% is enough. (by weight, based on solid base). Coatings based on Bayhydrol® UV 2282 have good adhesion to various substrates including plastic substrates. In order to further improve the adhesion of the coating film and eliminate “shadow curing”, Bayhydrol® UV 2282 and curing agent Bayhydur® VP LS 2336 can be used to prepare dual-cure coating systems.
