On January 18, Xing Ronghua, vice chairman of Nippon Paint Investment Co., Ltd. and senior vice president of Nippon Paint China Supply Chain Management Headquarters, led a delegation from Nippon Paint China Group to Jiayu County for inspection. Xing Ronghua and his entourage first inspected the candidate sites and sewage treatment plants for the Hengqi Road Project in the Chemical Zone of Wuhan Xingang Industrial Park. In the subsequent symposium, Fan Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the County Party Committee and deputy county magistrate, made investment promotion recommendations from several aspects such as the general situation of Jiayu County, transportation advantages, advantages of undertaking projects to settle down, suggestions for project site selection, and suggestions for cooperation between the two parties.

Nippon Paint’s visit to Jiayu County this time may be a continuation of the investment project of Nippon Paint’s production base in the central region of the country. In 2020, Nippon Paint completed the organizational restructuring of its global automotive coatings business and established Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings Company (NPAC), including its automotive coatings business in China. In 2021, Nippon Paint and Toyo Holdings signed an equity transfer agreement to acquire the remaining 40% of Toyo Holdings’ five automotive coating companies in China for 5.9 billion yen.
According to the layout plan of Nippon Paint in China, Nippon Paint may also invest in the construction of a professional production base for automotive coatings, especially around the automotive industry base, to improve supply chain response and production delivery capabilities.
In 2018, the first-phase project of Nippon Paint’s Xianning, Hubei production base was put into operation. The base has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and covers an area of 209 acres. It mainly produces water-based high-grade interior and exterior latex paint, engineering new texture paint, rock color imitation stone paint, wood paint And other series of products. Among them, the latex paint workshop has a production capacity of 150,000 tons in the first phase and 300,000 tons in the second phase. After the project is fully completed, it can realize an annual output value of 5 billion yuan and a tax revenue of 500 million yuan. The supply area of Nippon Paint’s Xianning factory in Hubei covers Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi provinces and parts of Anhui. According to local media reports, Nippon Paint’s Hubei Xianning base achieved an operating income of 480 million yuan in 2019, and Nippon Paint has become the largest paint company in Hubei. In 2022, Nippon Paint (Hubei) Co., Ltd. (main product: green environmental protection paint) was recognized as a single champion demonstration enterprise in the manufacturing industry in Hubei Province.
