Methyl palmitate is a colorless liquid or crystal. Using refined edible palm oil as raw material, palmitic acid is obtained through acidification hydrolysis, vacuum distillation and freezing crystallization. Then palmitic acid and methanol are esterified in the presence of catalyst sodium methoxide to obtain methyl palmitate. It is a raw material for surfactants and other fine chemical products.
